The Andrew Mellon Auditorium stands, without question, among the very finest classical buildings in America. Exquisite in its external form and details, the building is especially sophisticated in the inter-relationship of its parts and in its urban design qualities. Similarly, the gilded auditorium and lobbies are among the nation's most magnificent interiors. Since reopening in 2003 after a seven year renovation, The Mellon Auditorium has become DC's most desirable venues for non-profit galas and corporate dinners. The Mellon can accommodate seated events for 200-650 guests and receptions up to 2000 guests.
